The potential of mesenchymal stem?cell secretome for regeneration of intervertebral disc: A review article

چکیده

Low back pain is a crucial public health problem that commonly associated with intervertebral disc de? generation and has vast socio?economic impact worldwide. Current treatments for degeneration are conservative, non?surgical, or surgical interventions, there no current clinical therapy aimed at directly reversing the degeneration. Given limited capacity of (IVD) cells to self?repair, treatment aiming regenerate IVDs topic interest mesenchymal stem (MSCs) have been identified as having potential in this regeneration. Recent studies revealed benefits MSC could result from molecules secrete play principal roles regulating essential biologic processes, rather than implanted themselves. Therefore, objective study review use secretome IVDs. evidence shows may by modulating gene expressions nucleus pulposus (upregulation keratin 19 downregulation matrix metalloproteinase 12 Gla protein) stimulating IVD progenitor repair degenerated disc.

Mesenchymal stem cells for intervertebral disc repair and regeneration

Low back pain secondary to degenerative intervertebral disc disease contributes to significant pain and disability in the United States. The potential to reverse intervertebral disc degeneration has driven significant interest in the development of stem cell therapy for degenerative disc disease. Early animal models have demonstrated that stem cell therapy may facilitate the reversal of the dis...

Regeneration potential and mechanism of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell transplantation for treating intervertebral disc degeneration.

Intervertebral disc degeneration is a primary cause of low back pain and has a high societal cost. The pathological mechanism by which the intervertebral disc degenerates is largely unknown. Cell-based therapy especially using bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells as seeds for transplantation, although still in its infancy, is proving to be a promising, realistic approach to intervertebral disc re...

Cryopreserved Mesenchymal Stem Cells Stimulate Regeneration in an Intervertebral Disc

BACKGROUND Degenerative diseases are a medical, social, and economic problem worldwide. The most significant factors predisposing the development of degenerative changes in intervertebral discs are a low density and poor biosynthetic potential of the cells. Therefore, stem cell therapy in this case should show high clinical efficiency. METHODS The research aim was to evaluate the regenerative...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

A Histopathological Scheme for the Quantitative Scoring of Intervertebral Disc Degeneration and the Therapeutic Utility of Adult Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Intervertebral Disc Regeneration

The purpose of this study was to develop a quantitative histopathological scoring scheme to evaluate disc degeneration and regeneration using an ovine annular lesion model of experimental disc degeneration. Toluidine blue and Haematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining were used to evaluate cellular morphology: (i) disc structure/lesion morphology; (ii) proteoglycan depletion; (iii) cellular morp...
